Long Range Air Traffic Flow Management with Flight-Specific Flight Performance

چکیده
The increasing need for dynamic in-flight adjustments of a trajectory allows the airport, air traffic control and airline high degree flexibility in terms execution. This concept enables numerous optimisation options to jointly meet requirements sustainable transport increase economic ecological efficiency, as well safety. One promising measure is aircraft arrival rate prevent over-demand approach sector around airport. In so-called Long-Range Air Traffic Management, time long-haul flights, particular, already controlled many hours before arrival. However, their effects on fuel burn are heavily dependent flight performance (hardly predictable) influence weather. this study, we optimize 26 flights Asia-Pacific region with at Changi Airport within peak hour considering medium-haul short-haul flights. done by speed choosing alternative routes. For first time, model each its individually real weather conditions. We found that should start three four arriving maximize fuel-saving potential small deviations from optimal cruising speed, predictability under Allowing additionally choose an lateral route, different filed plan, both maximizes harmonization number minimizes total burn. Unlike adjustments, routes changes effective even during last cruise phase.

A Predictive Model of Flight Crew Performance in Automated Air Traffic Control and Flight Management Operations*
This paper describes Air-MIDAS, a model of pilot performance in interaction with varied levels of automation in flight management operations. The model was used to predict the performance of a two person flight crew responding to clearance information generated by the Center TRACON Automation System (CTAS). The model represents the information requirements, decision processes, communication pro...
متن کاملFlight plan management in a distributed air traffic control system
We explore how large-scale replication may enhance the availability of data in a loosely coupled distributed system. We are especially concerned with Air Traac Control systems which are intrinsically geographically distributed and impose strict constraints of availability. In this framework, we propose a replication system providing a weak consistency of data. After a study of speciic propertie...
متن کاملVisualization Tools for Free Flight Air-Traffic Management
he United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has declared that the existing Air Traffic Control (ATC) system will shift to a new system known as Free Flight. While Free Flight has not been precisely defined in a universally accepted way, the basic concept involves reducing centralized control to allow pilots greater freedom in choosing and altering routes, leading to reduced costs and...
متن کاملA Flow-based Flight Scheduler for En-route Air Traffic Management
This paper addresses a network-wide scheduling problem for generating, adjusting and optimizing flight schedules in en-route airspace. The aim of scheduling is twofold: to support flight plans by providing flight schedules reliable on optimal flow restrictions; and to assist en-route traffic control by ensuring safe and ordered trajectory of traffic. Firstly, we design an algorithm to generate ...
متن کاملSequential Traffic Flow Optimization with Tactical Flight Control Heuristics
A sequential optimization method is applied to manage air traffic flow under uncertainty in airspace capacity and demand. To support its testing, a decision support system is developed by integrating a deterministic integer programming model for assigning delays to aircraft under en route capacity constraints to reactively account for system uncertainties. To reduce computational complexity, th...
